2007 Pinot Noir Tasting Notes 2007 opened with a dry winter followed by a warm spring which led to early bud-break. The clusters were loose and small-berried; this helped enhance both the quality and color at harvest after a long and fair weather growing season. Extending the harvest until October led to this balanced & complex Pinot Noir. The 2007 is constantly evolving. It starts off with subtle notes of red cherry and wafts of red currants and cinnamon which develops into full blown black fruit of dark plum and boysenberry jam. A smooth but evocative palate exhibits roasted mushrooms, a bit of forest floor earthiness and exuberant ripe red and black fruits. Just a hint of toast on the long finish completes the profile. Has plenty of room to develop and age.
